GSC Safari Zone Patches

** BACK UP YOUR SAVE WITH CHECKPOINT FIRST **
The patch only uses 1 byte of unused/free space in the save file however it is good practice to make sure there is a safe backup prior to installing the patch

English ROM Patches (.bps):

• Gold
• Silver
• Crystal (Cart: Revision 1.1 ONLY)

Virtual Console RomFS Patches (.patch):

• Gold
• Silver
• Crystal (Cart: Revision 1.1 ONLY)

Requirements:

• 3DS w/ Luma CFW (with Game Patching enabled)

Installation:

Apply the linked ROM patch to your desired ROM backup with Marc Robledo's Rom Patcher JS

Create the following directory on your 3DS's SD card if it does not already exist:

• Gold: /luma/titles/0004000000172600/romfs/rom
• Silver: /luma/titles/0004000000172700/romfs/rom
• Crystal: /luma/titles/0004000000172800/romfs/rom

Rename your patched ROM to the following and place it within the above directory (Note: as is, no file extension):

• Gold: DMGAAUP0.J56
• Silver: DMGAAXP0.J57
• Crystal: CGBBYTE1.784

Place the VC patch (.patch) in the following directory:

• Gold: /luma/titles/0004000000172600/romfs/
• Silver: /luma/titles/0004000000172700/romfs/
• Crystal: /luma/titles/0004000000172800/romfs/

Speak to the Goldenrod Train Station officer to verify the patch was installed correctly.
Dialogue should display asking if you'd like to go to the Safari Zone.

Notes:

• Saving in the Safari Zone will bring you back to Goldenrod upon reset. This is intentional.
  It is designed this way to prevent accidental softlocks if the patch is uninstalled while in the Safari Zone.
• To exit the Safari Zone, please speak to the Train Station officer. Flying out of the Safari Zone is untested and may have unwanted side effects.
